    Probably most people have the traditional understanding of counter-rotating twin screw extruder.

    Low speed and low shear are the most points for such twin screw extruder. Anyway, such typical machines, presently, are just successfully applied in PVC process and some other special processes.

    Along with the deep and full understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of such counter rotating twin screw extruder, we developed the new screw profile to decrease the serious intermeshing forces and hence to make it possible run at higher speed. Consequently, we could find more and more positive features for such machines.

    TDY-A, the best extruders for PET processing!
         - Either for direct extrusion without predrying process or recycling extrusion process

    Near-to-zero IV drop now is practicable for screw extrusion process. This great point is mainly contributed from some very unique features in high speed twin screw extruder. Among of these features, the most important point is the larger exposed area to extreme vacuum during extrusion. The most sections along the two screws are exposed and this will cause better removing of low molecular weight materials. Also, the gentle shearing along whole screw could avoid overheating very well.
    Strong taking-in features and high speed condition make this twin screw extruder very advantageous for those fluffy materials, like film scrapes, bottle flakes, chopped fibers. Such system could avoid the agglomeration units to avoid extra energy consumption.

    New concept - Modular counter-rotating twin screw extruder available

    To adapt more and more different compounding processes, USEON developed the modular extrusion units for flexible regulation of different screw profiles. This greatly make it easy to change the screw design. Actually, some typical process require such function, like WPC process, reactive extrusion where the RTD and mixing strength are variable.
  • Single screw extruder
     
    USEON deveoped single screw extruders with some new features. Most of them are pointed to energy saving, productivity and process control.

    TDD series extruders are divided into the followed four sub-models according to different applications.
     
    Main features of TDD-A include smooth feeding barrels, typical screw profile. Mostly, some mixing sections are designed for the metering section to get better mixing and homogenization.  The standard L/D is designed to 30.  Presently, our maxium standard extruder is TDD250A to be appied in BOPP film extrusion line with output 5000kg/hr.
     
     
     
    This series extruders are mainly purposed for the polymers that requre venting or vacuum extraction during extrusion process. Typical applicaitons include recycling extrusion and product extrusion, mostly for PET, PA, ABS, PC, PA.
     
     
    With grooved barrel in the feeding section and also the barrier screw profile, TDD-K series extruders could approach very high output and with lower melt temperature. This series extruders are mainly applied for polyolefin or dried engineering plastics to extrude films, sheets, plates, pipes or profiles. Same diameter extruder could get more than 2 times output with such design. However, the maxium diameter is limited to 180mm.
     
      
    In some cases, like foam extrusion process and heat sensitive mateiral compounding process, and even for some BOPP/BOPET extrusion process, melt cooling extruders are necesary for strict elt temperature controll. USEON is going to manufacture one TDD400R cooling extruder for XPS extrusion process to get 1000kg/hr output.
     
  • Reciprocating extruder
    Main features of the TDW extruders
     
    Thanks to complicated motions inside the extrusion systems, including the rotating mottion and reciprocating motion, TDW extruders show some unique features. The uniform shearing effect between the pins and filghts is generated in the gap between the screw filghts and barrel pins. Consequently, the materials experience the process of relaxing-shearing-relaxing circulation, that contributes to the best dispersion mixing and avoid the overheat of compounds. Meantime, the fight sections divide the flow with numerous times to get very good distributive mixing.
     
    Modular design of screw elements and barrels could be convenient to adapt many different purposes. Even shorter L/D with 4 flights will greatly increase the mixing strength and also the pumping capacity.
