The fifth set of TDD300 XPS use single screw cooling extruder launching

We improved cooling efficiency on the fifth set of TDD300 by changing cooling channels and cooling method. This improvement is able to help increase heat exchange capacity and get more stable temperature deviation. We also improved the screw profile so that it allows lower temperature extrusion. All these improvements will help polystyrene encapsulating CO2 better.

Greener PET Extrusion Technology—twin screw extruder direct extrusion

The extruder of this recycle line is one TDY75 parallel counter rotating twin screw extruder which has some particular improvements against the features PET film recycle. These improvements help fluffy PET film easily intake into extruder without generating extra shearing heat, and facilitate vacuum degassing. Refer to PET processing, the higher vacuum lever, the better, we prolong the vacuum exposure. Meanwhile, our special designed screw elements effectively control the RTD (residence time distribution) which can minimize yellowing and IV drop.

Useon dominates the technology of huge capacity supercritical CO2 foam XPS line in China

After successfully delivered 4 sets of 1000kg/hr supercritical CO2 foam XPS production line, with in competition with European companies and Taiwan companies, Useon won a new order of 1000kg/hr CO2 foam complete XPS line once again in October 2011. This customer is the biggest XPS manufacturer in South China, whose annual capacity is more than 300,000 cubic meters, and it is the only one who owned the XPS line imported from Europe. This is our 5th winning in the competition with Europe companies in XPS line. It’s a new milestone which meant we dominate the technology of huge capacity supercritical CO2 foam XPS line, and shown our international competence.

Plast Euroasia 2011 Istanbul will take place during 27th-30th October. Useon extrusion first attended this fair in 2006. In the past 5 years, the Turkish market of plastic machines became bigger and bigger. 5 years back, we exhibited the last generation of twin screw extruders whose specific torque was just less than 5.5 Nm/cm3. Now, our SAT series co-rotating twin screw extruder reaches at 10.3 Nm/cm3, almost double than before. It’s a big development for China-made co-rotating twin screw extruder. The increase of torque ensure twin screw extruder has bigger operation window and processing range so that SAT realize one for multi-function.

PET Extrusion Low-carbon Too—PET Direct Extrusion Technology

With the long term profound research and practical experience, Useon designed a more efficient PET direct extrusion technology. This technology has been applied to a couple of large PET film manufacturers worldwide. By the means of direct extrusion, it can tolerate 5000ppm moisture content at best, and the IV (intrinsic viscosity) drop less than 0.03dl/g. Comparing with traditional processing approach, direct extrusion technology can save energy up to 40%. In addition, it saves the turnover time and cost. Therefore, PET direct extrusion technology is low-carbon concept applied in practice.

Trials on PPC foam extrusion-newly green material took place at Useon Lab.

The task of this trial is to widen the application of PPC material in order to promote this green material better. The trial achieved through a Useon-designed-made special foam extrusion twin screw extruder. After several times of reformulation, we found a best recipe of PPC foam extrusion which can produce 30kg/m3 PPC foam bar with close-cell structure. It has also good impact-resistance and resilience features.

Good response to SAT high torque compounder at Chinaplas

During the fair of Chinaplas 2011, we exhibited SAT52 and SAT110 high specific torque (specific torque (M/a3, M = torque, a =centerline distance between screws) of 10.3 Nm/cm3.) twin screw extruders. SAT52 is for general compounding and SAT110 had been ordered by a well-know beverage manufacturer and it will be using for BOPET.

SAT52 for nylon recycling and glassfiber reinforcement has been tested last week

A set of SAT52 ordered by an Israel customer had been accepted after a successful shop test. This line is supposed to recycle nylon meanwhile add glassfiber for reinforcement. Nylon scraps will be fed through main feeder and glassfiber will be added through a side feeder to avoid strength loss due to the over-shearing of glassfiber.
