Yesterday our customer has tested his TDS52 twin screw extruder successfully in our factory. This twin screw extruder is going to process cellulose acetate. The main purpose of this material is for eyeglass.
Seeing the transparent and compact pellets from the line, the customer was smiling satisfactorily. This line is our standard compounding line. It consisted of TDS52 twin screw extruder, strand die, water bath, air knife, strand die pelletizer and vibrating shifter. The specialty of this line is that the twin screw extruder has two vacuum ports connecting with vacuum pump. The vacuum level at each port must be appropriate. If the vacuum level is too high, the vacuum system will exhaust out additives. If the vacuum level is too low, the final pellets will have some bubbles inside. If the shearing force is too much, the additives will decompose. If the shearing is not enough, the additives will not have good dispersion.
