Greener PET Extrusion Technology—twin screw extruder direct extrusion

Last Thursday, two HongKong customers came to our factory to test they ordered PET film recycle line successfully. After two hours running, they are happy with quality and output.

The extruder of this recycle line is one TDY75 parallel counter rotating twin screw extruder which has some particular improvements against the features PET film recycle. These improvements help fluffy PET film easily intake into extruder without generating extra shearing heat, and facilitate vacuum degassing. Refer to PET processing, the higher vacuum lever, the better, we prolong the vacuum exposure. Meanwhile, our special designed screw elements effectively control the RTD (residence time distribution) which can minimize yellowing and IV drop.

The main purpose of this line is to recycle margin and unqualified films from PET film production line, then reuse the recycled pellets into production. PET falls into Saturated Linear Polyesters which contains Hydrophilic group-COOR, readily absorbing moisture in the air. So moisture is harmful during the extrusion processing. As a result the hydrolysis will happen, which can cause yellowing, fragile, bubbling of PET film. In traditional PET processing, the raw material has to be pre-dried. Our PET extrusion system eliminates energy-consumption and thankless pre-dry processing, makes PET extrusion greener.
